Don Newcombe would spend 10 Years in Major League Baseball, 8 of those years with the Dodgers Organization. He would joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949, winning Rookie of the Year and making his 1st All Star appearance. Newcombe wouldn’t play in the 1952-53 seasons because of his military service, but later would rejoin the Dodgers and in 1956 would win both the Cy Young and MVP awards. Newcombe would finish the ‘56 season with 27 wins a 3.06 ERA and 139 strikeouts.
